Best in Show winner, Persevering Hope by Meaghan Troup, is a captivating and well-executed palette knife rendering of a hydrangea flower with rich colors and textures. Previously, Meaghan received an Award of Distinction in STCEA’s first show of the season, Making Waves: Waterscapes in Art.
Award of Distinction winners for their creativity and artistic merit include Andrea Hellman for her energetic digital painting of a ballet dancer performing the Nutcracker in Grande Allegro from Waltz of the Flowers, Katy Bishop for her lovely abstract Arabesque created with alcohol ink, and Samantha Sponer for Staring at You Staring at Me, a powerful illustration which depicts the fat experience in society as part of her Body-ody-ody Project.
